Less paperwork. More of the school day on record.
Teaching assistants, teachers, therapists and SENCOs each hold part of a pupil’s day. FPK-X gives the whole team one quick way to log it and one shared record to work from, so progress towards the outcomes in each pupil’s EHC plan or SEN support plan is easy to show and easy to explain.
The figures on this page come from a school team in the United States. We have not yet measured a UK setting. This page uses England’s terms; the same record supports Coordinated Support Plans in Scotland, Individual Development Plans in Wales and statements of SEN in Northern Ireland.
Measured in a real school year
- 2:36median minutes for classroom staff to log a daily check-in
- ~14 minfor a therapist session note with goal data
- 7% → 39%school-day coverage: class periods with a record*
- 3 → 1separate record systems combined into one timeline
Figures from one student’s FPK-X records, 2025–26 school year, de-identified and shared with the family’s permission. One student and one team, not a controlled study. *School-day coverage is the share of class periods with at least one record (seven a day): September to February on a shared spreadsheet, against late February to June in FPK-X. It is a full-day benchmark, not a legal requirement; the school team decides what must be documented. See what we’ve measured so far for the method and its limits.
Built around each person’s job
Teaching assistants
Tap through a check-in between lessons or activities: what the pupil was doing, the level of support, how it went and what helped. About two and a half minutes.
Class teachers
See every adult’s notes against each outcome in the pupil’s plan in one place, instead of chasing sheets and shared documents.
Therapists and specialists
Speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, educational psychologists and AAC specialists log sessions with goal data in the same record the classroom uses.
SENCOs and school leaders
Progress reports, team reports and documentation coverage built from the logs, ready for EHC plan annual reviews, SEN support reviews and meetings with families and the local authority.
FPK-X imports existing service-log documents and goal-tracking spreadsheets, removes duplicates, and merges them with new entries, so nothing from earlier in the year is lost.
Two measures that answer the hard questions
- Available now
School-day coverage
What share of a pupil’s school day has any record at all, by lesson at secondary or by activity block at primary. It shows where the day goes undocumented, so the team can decide what to cover. A benchmark for the team, not a rule.
- In development
Plan documentation fidelity
Records measured against the provision and outcomes in the pupil’s EHC plan or SEN support plan. If the plan calls for data twice a week, twice a week is 100%.
Reports built from the logs
Provider and role reports
Each staff member’s own logs and charts, for their records.
Team report
Every adult’s entries on one timeline, by month and by role.
Year in review
Growth across communication, support levels and outcomes, ready for the EHC plan annual review.

How a pilot works
Scope
Agree the students, staff and success measures for a defined term.
Set up
Onboarding, training, and import of your existing logs and sheets.
Run
Staff log the school day; families and providers join by invitation.
Review
Measure results against the success criteria agreed at the start.
